Tightening and Anti-Oxidant coating. -Illustrated

Every connection is inspected for prior damage, existing condition and the  connection box is thoroughly cleaned.

The existing wire is abraded with #220 grit automotive wet-dry finishing sandpaper. This important step disrupts and removes much of the the existing oxidation that is a very poor electrical conductor.

Immediately after abrading the wire, a fresh layer of non-flammable oxide inhibitor is applied over the entire exposed wire to prevent fresh oxidation.

It is imperative that the anti-oxidant used is non-flammable since many brands available on the market are actually quite flammable.

Once the wire has been re-stripped or abraded and the oxide inhibitor has been applied the connection is re-tightened to ensure that it is very tight.
