COPALUM™

COPALUM™ Crimping every connection in your home is the preferred and most effective permanent solution for repairing aluminum wiring.

All existing aluminum connections will be permanently “pigtailed” to copper wire.

The resulting connections mitigate the problems associated with aluminum wiring and are maintenance-free.

Brand new devices will replace all existing switches and outlets.

How It's Done!

This is how we mitigate the dangers of aluminum wiring.

Why Does This Work?

The COPALUM™ Crimp repair consists of attaching (pigtailing) a piece of copper wire to the existing branch circuit made of aluminum wire. These connections use a compression tool to fix the crimp. This process squeezes the conductor metal through small holes, breaking down the oxidation layer and sealing the internal metal from any further oxygen contact.

COPALUM™ crimping is the only method considered a permanent repair by the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) when applied to every aluminum electrical connection.

We have now severed the crimp to demonstrate the behavior of the crimped aluminum and copper wires. The aluminum wire is now cold-welded to the copper wire, creating a single wire that mitigates fire hazards effectively.

This is the primary reason that COPALUM™ crimping is considered a permanent repair.
